I am reading "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. I've read it before but not for a while. It is in the genre of sci-fi that I enjoy - the kind where the sci-fi is secondary to the characters that is also funny. I would also recommend the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett for the same reason. The reason I picked this one up for a second time is that I bought it for JT at a yard sale and I wanted to read it again just in case he does so we can talk about it.
